Foundation For His Ministry: Weekly Praise & Prayer Newsletter

Foundation for His Ministry Weekly Praise & Prayer Newsletter
Praise Reports:
.  Marisol Herrera, who was at the Baja Mission for 9 years, will be marrying Kevin Cross in Kansas this Saturday. Marisol said this about her time at the Mission:

I just want to thank you for the time I served at FFHM in Baja. This is a great ministry that God used to prepare me. I thought that I was coming for only two years to study at the Bible Institute, but  God had a different plan for my life. I left the Mission 9 years later to marry a wonderful man of God that He put in my way, Kevin Cross. God led me thru this wonderful journey serving the needy alongside the wonderful leadership and the staff that serve at the Mission. FFHM is the ministry that God used to prepare me for His service, and he put me to work with faithful servants such as Brother Mario Cordoba and Dirk Kos. I learned a lot from them.

.   This week, because of generous donors, we were able to purchase 1,565 blankets. These will be delivered to people in the Baja to help them through what is expected to be a very cold winter.

.  Last Wednesday Pastor David Johnson, a widower for the past 16 months, from Billings, Montana announced his upcoming marriage in December to Domi, the Sewing Room Supervisor at the Baja Mission. Domi is a widow of fifteen years, with 7 children and many grandchildren. She has served at the mission for 31 years in various capacities. All are invited to their wedding ceremony on December 14th at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Laguna Woods, CA at 4:00PM.

.  The students and staff at the TJ House are grateful for the donations they have received recently. People have brought donuts, cereal, cleaning supplies, personal articles, and groceries. They are all encouraged and blessed by the generosity of others.

Prayer Requests:
. Please continue praying for Eric Benning, the son of Baja missionaries Hans and Nancy, who was in a horrible motorcycle accident. He has been readmitted to the hospital because the incision from one of his surgeries has become infected.

. There are currently 43 student teachers from the state of Guerrero missing in Mexico. Many fear they have been murdered by corrupt police. This has put the entire country of Mexico on edge and Oaxaca protesters have taken over the city. There were several days this week when it was difficult to get in and out of the city. Tensions are increasing between those protesting and those being affected by the protests and it is feared this will result in violence. Please pray for peace and a quick resolution. Please also pray for the families of these missing students and for wisdom for the government officials who are seeking justice.

Recent protests in Oaxaca
. Please continue praying for Enrique, the supervisor of the prison ministry in Oaxaca. One of his eyes is swollen shut and is quite painful. Enrique has been unable to work and has expressed how much he misses going to the prisons. We are praying for a miraculous healing for this faithful servant.
