What's your Shape?

The S.H.A.P.E online assessment gives a great indication of where you would be most happy and joyful serving in your local church.

Saddleback Church pioneered this assessment over 10 years ago.

Taking the assessment gives you a great printout and shows where you could serve in your church.

There are several websites that offer an online survey.
They are approaching this from a Christian worldview.
Gives you a great analysis on how to use your SHAPE in a Christian non profit.

 S is your Spiritual Gifts.
H is your Heart or Passion
A is your Abilities
P is your Personality
E is your Experiences.

When I was on staff at Eastbrook Church in Milwaukee, we did this in our New Member Class and did a paper survey. Now it is ONLINE. You can google S.H.A.P.E and get several churches that have this on their website. Here is the link for Eastbrook Church. http://www.eastbrookchurch.org/10809/ministry/ministry_id/394593/Serving

The link gives a great explanation of each item of S.H.A.P.E.

Come back for more on your "Strengths" and "Abilities"

The Rule of 3

 Our Welcome Ministry meeting hilights:

Pastor Jim Caler led the meeting  Monday night for the various ministry groups that initially have an impact on our visitors even before they get into the Worship Hall.

Parkers
Door Greeters
Welcome Desk
Ushers
Connection Point

Expectations of visitors and us.
We want to be a friendly church.

We don't always know who the visitors are!
One time we introduced ourselves and asked if the person was a visitor.
No, he and his family had been at Eastbrook over 20 years!
We were relatively new to Eastbrook at the time.

Jim spoke again about the Rule of 3:

If you are within 3 feet of anyone, extend your hand of greeting or hug them...depending on how you sense they may react.

After the service greet 3 people you do NOT know before you start talking to your friends.

3 Words: Welcome to Eastbrook.

Some good points for any church.

Maybe Pastor Jim can expand on this more.
