Bloom right where you are...on your journey with the LORD

"The trail is long, and we won't arrive at our destination in this life. Still, we're on the journey with Jesus for the greatest thrill of our lives." Zig Ziglar

So pick your destination right now!

As Paul Borthwick says in his book: How to Be a World-Class Christian: Becoming Part of God's Global Kingdom:  "Through prayer, we can join any team that God is using. We can join in the efforts of missionaries in the Amazon River valley, in the ministries of pastors in Sri Lanka, or in the evangelistic effort of "tentmakers' in North Africa!"  P. 73

As we finish our journey and one day stand before the LORD,  we will hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."  Matthew 25:21

Isn't that what we want to hear? I do
And just maybe...when the LORD returns and creates a new earth...the LORD may take us to that region  and we will  meet the people we were praying for...and the others who were on our "team" and then see how we did make a difference in the world and for all eternity!
Happy journey!

Monday morning: Time to Refocus

Sunday and Monday...any connection?
"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker." Psalm 95:6

"Day after day I make decisions as to whether I will further my own agenda or yours, whether I will exalt my name or yours...or build your kingdom of love and light."P. 45 100 Prayers Inspired By The Psalms   By Julie Ackerman Link

Our work: How important is it to us?

Are we worshiping our work and working at our worship?
We are called to God first and then to our secondary calling…which may be our job, business or what we do in “retirement”.

A word from The Call by Os Guinness

"Calling is the truth that God calls us to himself so decisively that everything we are, everything we do, and everything we have is invested with a special devotion, dynamism, and direction lived out as a response to his summons and service" P. 29

How are we using our "Strengths" for God's Kingdom?

My Strength or God's Strength?

A few words on "Strength" from the book of Psalms:

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7

The Lord is the strength of his people,
a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Psalm 28:8

The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11

“What are we daring to attempt which could not be accomplished without His strength and intervention? So often we plan our lives around what we could do without Him on our own.  A sure sign that we are in communion with the Lord is that we are attempting what only He can do? Can you identify that in your life?”

Some excerpts from:  God’s Best for My Life by Lloyd John Ogilvie

On your journey with Jesus: "The trail is long, and we won't arrive at our destination in this life. Still, we're on the journey with Jesus for the greatest thrill of our lives." Zig Ziglar

Have we used our "imagination" to dream or visualize?
"I can only imagine..."

By Faith..."Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible."  Hebrews 11:1-3

God’s Call
Just a few questions you may want to ask yourself

"Figure out what you’d give your life for and you’ll know what to give your time to." Bob Goff
What is God calling me to do?  Have I asked Him?
What is my passion?  My Spouse’s
Where do the world’s needs and my passion intersect?
Have I taken the Strengthsfinder 2.0 Assessment to see what my “strengths” are?
What are my dreams?
What can we do?  (Add spouse’s name if married)
What about interests?
How would I spend my time?
What is important to me?
What can I do that will outlive me?
What experiences have I had that my give me a clue to the above?
What are my gifts?
Am I using my talents, gifts in my local church? If not, why not?
Am I a good steward of my gifts, time, abilities, etc.?
What would I do if I had a million dollars or more?
Do I have enough information or do I have info overload?
Who do I need to contact, email, call?
Do I need some more training in some area?
Are these the correct questions to ask myself? And my spouse if married?

On our journey with Jesus

"The trail is long, and we won't arrive at our destination in this life. Still, we're on the journey with Jesus for the greatest thrill of our lives." Zig Ziglar

Christians with a heart for sharing Jesus and a taste for adventure are being invited to take part in an overland trek aiming to help take the gospel to some of the world's unreached nomadic people groups.

A great resource for World Missions

Interested in the Himalayas, but can't travel there?

Church planting in the Himalayas

Non reached people groups: How to be involved!

So, look for what God is doing in the world...and become a part of a "team" that is praying for that country, region and or missionary.  You can become a part of a team, no matter where you live.

Start where you are. Your church missions group, and or other missions or missionaries you already know. Or go to Operation World

A wealth of info on what God is doing in the world.

Another good resource is Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. A prior blog post of mine gives info on this. Perspectives

You don't necessarily have to physically go to a foreign country...But the LORD has already given us the call to "GO"....first 2 letters of his name. GOD.

For those of us who are Boomers or Boomers and Beyond and can't physically travel to another country...your influence can and will continue no matter where you are.

Come LORD Jesus!

You might be wondering What is a World-Class Christian?
"Anthropologists..explain that at our core is a basic view of reality-a worldview. That worldview determines who we are, what we value, and how we behave." Gordon Aeschliman

A Biblical Perspective On The World!

Perspectives is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points or "perspectives" — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God's global purpose.
The Biblical and Historical sections reveal why our confidence is based on the historic fact of God's relentless work from the dawn of history until this day.

The Cultural and Strategic sections underscore that we are in the midst of a costly, but very "do-able" task, confirming the Biblical and Historical hope.
Why Should I Attend?

God has a "world-sized" role for every Christian in His global purpose.Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable, and perhaps crucial, for any Christian.

Still time to register for this course!
First two sessions are free!
Come and check it out!
Get a new perspective on what Christian missions is all about!

Even if you are of another faith tradition or persuasion...see what passionate Christians believe!
