Faith calls us out of our comfort zone...to learn new skills and minister in new ways

" Faith calls us out of our comfort zone…to learn new skills and minister in different ways.” But we get uptight. We think, “What if God asks me to do something I can’t do? Or I don’t have the strength, wisdom, or faith?” If you were relying on your own resources, you’d be in trouble. But the fact is, “God…knew you and chose you” (1Pe 1:2 NLT). Every time you meet a new challenge He strengthens you by proving that He not only supplies the tools, but is responsible for the outcome."
Bob Gass Daily Devotion: Sept.2.

"The Bible tells us that we are not to store up treasure on earth but tht we are to secure our treasure in heaven (see Matthew 6:19-20). So many times we can get caught up in what we think god forbids us to  have, seeing God as some kind of cosmic killjoy who wants us to go without, when the realitiy is that He desire for us to prioritize our lives in sch a way that we may have eternal significance." Zig Ziglar: Daily Insights. Sept 2.

Foundation For His Ministry: Prayer and Praise Weekly Newsletter

This is Richard Dassow

As a volunteer and committed to this ministry I am reposting Foundation For His Ministry Weekly Newsletter with the hope and prayer that more people around the world will see and sense how the Lord is working...especially with needy children in several areas of Mexico.

Their website:  www.ffhm.org

This  is their TWITTER: You can follow them on Twitter also. Twitter is FREE. Easy to sign up.
"One of the least of these".

Here is their mission statement:

Foundation for His Ministry is a mission whose purpose is to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ. To this end we share and demonstrate God’s love through the power of the Holy Spirit by meeting basic spiritual, physical and educational needs of those in Mexico and beyond. This will be done in such a way as to establish the Mission as a model of effective ministry for other parts of the world.

Praise Reports:
.  We continue to thank God for the support we receive from Orphans Promise and CBN Latino. This week they provided school supplies for all of our children at the Michoacan Mission.

.  We received a very generous donation this week that will cover the school costs of 12 elementary students for a year, 4 university students for a year, a water truck for the Baja Mission and money towards Phase II of the remodeling work in Tijuana. We are thankful for God's faithfulness and the many ways He provides all of our needs.

. For those in Southern California, Stephanie Grani will be sharing at our next prayer group dinner on September 5th at 6:00PM about Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish feast of the blowing of the trumpets. This will be at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Laguna Woods and the cost of the meal is $7. Please RSVP before Wedesday evening by e-mailing Linda at linda@ffhm.org or calling 949.492.2200.

Prayer Requests:
.  Two of our students in Tijuana, Enoc and Pedro, were mugged and assaulted on their way back from the university this week. They both have some bruising and stitches.
We are thankful the young men's bodies will recover. But we ask you to pray for the boys and their safety in Tijuana. We are praying that their spirits will not be broken and that they will not live in fear. We also seek your prayer in the area of transportation for them to and from the University. Both of them have night classes and do not get out of school until 11pm. By that time of night, public transportation is shut down, so the boys do not currently have a safe way home. We are praying for a safe solution to the transportation challenge. And please pray for wisdom for the administrators of the TJ House, Jorge and Gina Gamboa as they work to care for these students.

Enoc and Pedro
.  Please continue to pray for Craig Pereau. This week he was hospitalized because of complications with lung cancer. Pray for a relief of pain and peace for his mind and soul. Please also pray for Chuck, Charla and their family as they walk through this with him.

Craig
.  Please pray for all of our university students in Tijuana, Oaxaca and now Texas as they begin classes and get used to a new routine. We are grateful these young men and women have this opportunity for higher education and ask God to protect them and guide them as they pursue their dreams and goals.

.  George Wakeling, FFHM board advisor, will be undergoing surgery on September 8th to put a filter in his main artery to stop clots from getting to his heart. Pray all goes well with no complications and no infection.

George
.  Patty Sculley, former Baja staff and friend of the ministry, was diagnosed this week with renal cancer. Please pray for her complete healing.

Patty

Please pray for Enrique Perez, the supervisor of the prison ministry in Oaxaca. He has been sick and will require surgery this month.

The Rich View for Wed. Aug. 20th

Alittle late for the day.
Spend afternoon and evening working with Red Cross at a Reception Area for a fire in Milwaukee.
No one hurt, some people had a place to stay and we put a few up in motels for a few days.
Will be giving them all further assistance Thursday morning.

The church is not built by talents, gifts or experiences - it is built by Jesus.

Great book. Miracle south of the border.
