The Rich View for Wed. Aug. 20th

Alittle late for the day.
Spend afternoon and evening working with Red Cross at a Reception Area for a fire in Milwaukee.
No one hurt, some people had a place to stay and we put a few up in motels for a few days.
Will be giving them all further assistance Thursday morning.

"The great secret of success is to go through life as a man who never gets used up." Albert Schweitzer
Reminds me of Charla Pereau from Foundation For His Ministry.

A few of my "Tweets" this morning:

The church is not built by talents, gifts or experiences - it is built by Jesus.

Great book. Miracle south of the border.

The Rich View for Tuesday, Aug. 19: Feeling Overwhelmed this morning?

Feeling overwhelmed this morning?

(depending on what part of the world you are in)

Sit down:
Make a list of the things you are thinking you need to do today!
Take a few minutes and rank them in order of importance.
If you could ONLY do one of the those things, put that at the top.
Work on that one.
Forget the others. Really forget them. You can't multitask, even if you think you can.
It's been proven that you are less efficient by multitasking.
O yes, I forgot the most important one. PRAY.
And if you only accomplish that ONE thing, that's good.
You will feel good. Should feel great!
Thanks the Lord.
Tomorrow is another day.
Start the list again.
Ok here's a word from Stuart Briscoe

"Every man (OR WOMAN( has an open invitation to have a conversation with God. It is an invitation to open his heart to the Lord and to say what is on his mind! It is a strange man who passes on such an invitation."  Stuart Briscoe. The ONE YEAR DEVOTION for MEN. August 13th.  Conversation with the lord.
"Listen to my pleading O LORD. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "LORD, I am coming." Psalm 27-7-8

"Jesus said, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." John 15:5
A few of my Tweeter posts today:

"He means that we can't do anything of eternal significance apart from His direction and power." Daily Insights with Zig Ziglar.

A few of my "Tweets" this morning.
If you are more content now, you can read on. Otherwise, please re read the above.
Have a great day.
This is the day the Lord has made, rejoice in it.!

The Rich View for Monday, August 18

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." Psalm 46:1-3

You may be have already seen this video, but if so, maybe you would want to forward it on to a friend.
It may change their life!

Baby Boomers and Beyond: Tapping the Ministry Talents and Passions of Adults over 50 [Amy Hanson] Our life group at church is going to read and study this book and see where we go with it.

http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Boomers-Beyond-Ministry-Passions/dp/0470500794
How ministry leaders can help older adults be a vital part of Christian communityWith the explosion of the older adult population, this important book explores the opportunities and challenges that this presents for the Christian community. Amy Hanson challenges us to let go of many old stereotypes regarding aging and embrace a new paradigm that sees older adults as active, healthy and capable of making significant contributions.
  • Debunks the myths of aging that keep us from fully embracing the potential of people in life's second half
  • Offers suggestions on how to re-invent ministry with older adults
  • Focuses on unleashing older adults to serve and make an impact on churches and congregations
  • A volume in the Leadership Network series
The author shows church leaders how they can unleash the power of the baby boomer population to strengthen their congregations.

Spending time on social media?

Being Sunday, I try not to spend any time on social media, so will post a previous posting that hopefully will be of interest and use to you in your adventure with the Lord.

We all have a "Worldview", a way of seeing the world and interpreting the events that happen in our lives.   A good "Assessment" for helping us in this area is "Strengthsfinder 2.0." More on this in an upcoming post!

A previous attempt for clarifying my thoughts on my Christian Worldview.
Worldview-

Something For Jesus to Do! (SFJTD)

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”
 Proverbs 16:9

“Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  1st. Thess. 5:16-18

Recognizing that this is NOT my home. I and Nomi are just passing through. Travelers, not settlers…Citizens of another world! The Lord provides some great inns, but not to get too comfortable in this world.
Material things valuable only to the extent that they facilitate our mission. We are ambassadors for the Lord. Hoping and praying to take as many people with us to our real home in Heaven.

As each tick of the clock brings me(us) a second closer to our heavenly appointment with the Lord Jesus when we will stand before Him and give an accounting of how we lived our lives, I want to have my mind focused now on things above, not on earthly matters…Col 3:2-12.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Roman 12:12

Want to hear “Well done, good and faithful servant” When I stand before Jesus one day.

The resources of heaven are ready and waiting for the people of God who desire to make much of him in this world. For the people of God who long to see his power at work and who live to see his purposes accomplished, he will give us absolutely everything we need according to his very presence alive in us. “

“Instead of imagining all the things we can accomplish, we ask God to do what only he can accomplish. Yes, we work, we plan, we organize, and we create, but we do it all while we fast, while we pray, and while we constantly confess our need for the provision of God. Instead of dependence on ourselves, we express radical desperation for the power of his Spirit, and we trust that Jesus stands ready to give us everything we ask for so that he might make much of our Father in the world.”

“Jesus commands us to go. He has created each of us to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, and I propose that anything less than radical devotion to this purpose is unbiblical Christianity”. How can WE do this?

“God gave his people his image for a reason-so that they might multiply his image throughout the world. He created human beings, not only to enjoy his grace in a relationship with him, but also to extend his glory to the ends of the earth.”

It’s all about: Relationships, Communication, Forgiveness: 3 Basic Concepts that result in “Peace” “Shalom”

ALL Tentative, subject to change at any time!

By Holy Spirit and His opening and closing doors!

Result of lifetime reading Bible, over 150 Christian books over the years and compiling and looking over “old” notes taken over the years.

Making the most of every opportunity!

Seizing opportunities is directly tied to the spiritual gift of discernment. When we see what looks like an opportunity, we have to discern whether we are seeing a true opening or just our own wishful-thinking or a random idea.

Just because an opportunity arises does not mean that we should take it. An opportunity is just a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something. We still have the hard work of determining whether it is something WE SHOULD DO!

Opportunities are doorways that God opens. It is divine leading, even though we may not be able to predict what lies beyond.

Ability to see with the eyes of God, think with the mind of Christ, and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit!
