● Bloom where you
are planted! We have all heard this phrase so many times that maybe we
don't understand what it really means. Google the phrase...you will see what I
mean. Some very good secular or worldly advice.
●Be "rooted", "grounded" and "grow" and so rise to the top of your "field"...and "bloom" where you are "planted" ...using the "Abilities", "gifts" and "Strengths" God has endowed you with.
●By doing the above...we potentially can rise to the top of our "field".
But WHY should we Bloom Where We Are Planted?
●As a believer in Jesus Christ and desiring to be a good steward and a faithful "follower" of Jesus on our way to glory...we can be a light for others to see the Truth.
●"The Lord created each of us individually with different Spiritual Gifts, Passions, Abilities, strengths and a unique personality with different experiences. Helping each other put the pieces of the seeming puzzle together so we each can be most effective in our families, church, community and the world and finish our lives well and leave a legacy that gives glory to the LORD so when we stand before Him one day, we will hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

field grown pansies...from our farm many years ago.
●Pansies are Bi
Annuals, meaning they go through the winter and come back to life the next
spring. We also go through some trying times..sooner or later.
●The beautiful field of
flowering pansies in the fall and then again in the spring were ready to
be dug up and then were transplanted in other people's gardens. God sometimes
transplants us also...due to changing life situations...marriage, career, death
and other events.
●The individual beautiful pansy plants grew well in the field where they were planted for the allotted time they were there. They were seeded in the field for a purpose...The next year they were individually dug up, put in containers and sold to people who then transplanted them to their gardens to be viewed.
● Isn't this what life is all about?
●God, the master gardener created each of us unique...plants us here for a short time...for a specific purpose...and cares for us. "Lord, open our eyes and heart". "Come Holy Spirit, Come, you are welcome here"
●The picture above was taken in early to late October.
Our family grew 2 plus acres of pansies.
Seeded in the field beginning of July.
●Pansies are bi annuals.
Around Thanksgiving time when the ground was frozen, they were covered with marsh hay.
But before this...all the flowers were hand picked off and discarded. A lot of work!
●In spring as soon as the snow melted and it was dry enough..late March.., we uncovered them.
They started to bloom again in early May and we dug each plant and put 12 in a wooden flat or 6 plants in a 2 quart basket and 5 in a wooden crate and sold to Kohls and Sentry food stores. This was in the mid 60s to late 70's. They purchased all we had.
●We also sold to Winkies in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, a local 5 and 10 cent store. They had several stores at the time. They are still in business with the store in Whitefish Bay.
