Drip Irrigation on the Mission Field
Dr. JL Williams comments:
"For a number of years I have been involved in supplying drip irrigation “bucket” kits to third world partners as a way of helping national Christians provide for their families and do outreach in their villages, neighborhoods. For several years I have served on the board of directors for Chapin Living Waters ” bringing hope to the poorest people in over 150 countries and the opportunity to solve their own problems.”

Rural Empowerment Initiative Photo at Marketplace Revolution
A group picture of a meeting of REI, Rural Empowerment Initiative people. REI is an Affiliate with Partners Worldwide.
http://www.ruralempowermentinitiative.org
Rick Slager is a small business owner of 13 years, with a love for Africa, has become a part of Partners Worldwide. He will be creating income generating activities that will create jobs and lift people out of poverty in the name of Christ. REI's strategy is to use International Development Enterprise (IDE) proven method of Prosperity Realized through Irrigation and Small Holder Markets (PRISM) to enable small holder prosperity by integrating small holders into sustainable, expanding agricultural markets. These methods will be used initially at the Small Farm Resource Development Center (SFRDC) with small pilot programs and training.
I will offer my help and assistance with drip irrigation and other ways to help Rick in his ministry.
Marketplace Revolution: Fighting Global Poverty through Business
Just returned from the 2010 International Conference.
This event brought together over 380 Christian business people as well as church and ministry leaders from over 20 countries! It was a great time of encouragement, sharing and learning how God is working through business people to revolutionize the global marketplace.
We had some very passionate speakers during our plenary sessions.
We had over 18 workshops.
A very exciting and helpful time were the 25 Friday Lunch time sessions where we could share our stories and find out what others of similar interests were doing around the world.
Among them:
1.Business training
2.Servant Leadership
3.Kingdom-focused Businesses
4.Developing Appropriate Technology Businesses
5.Social Sector Enterprises
6.Business As Mission
7.Social Enterprises
8.Investing in Businesses for Social Change
9.Cross-Cultural Partnership Models
10.Clean Water-Access to Water Business Initiatives
ll.Farming and Agri-Business
12.Reaching the unreached people groups
We also had opportunities to meet with people interested in specific areas of the world, such as East Africa, Southern Africa, Asia, Latin America, West Africa, Involvement for Colleges and Universities and Getting Started with Partners Worldwide.
Made many contacts for promising agricultural projects around the world!
Gave 4 Bucket Kits and 1 Super Bucket Kit to leaders who had a passionate interest in starting a project in their area, mostly in African countries.
Will now follow up on contacts made!
