The goal is to facilitate transformed lives, neighborhoods and cities through the seamless combination of evangelism, discipleship and community development that is identified and owned by the indigenous population using available assets and resources. In urban USA settings this is called Neighborhood Transformation (NT).

Neighborhood Transformation (NT) ultimately addresses the root causes of poverty, disease, and spiritual darkness by training neighborhood individuals to take more responsibility for their own lives and neighborhood. When implemented, neighborhoods gain the capacity to identify and solve problems, and then determine and implement sustainable solutions utilizing appropriate technologies. Vital biblical faith is nurtured at every step.

The training will introduce NT concepts while showing the tools and processes of implementing and managing Urban NT. Sessions are conducted in a participatory style with large and small group discussions, as well as various hands-on activities. These methods all easily transfer to the urban neighborhood setting.

NT TOT for Church Facilitators (12 Hour)
• Neighborhood Transformation (power-point)
• type='text'>NEIGHBORHOOD TRANSFORMATION COMES TO MILWAUKEE

Visioneering Seminar Friday Oct 28

Location: City on a Hill: 2224 W. Kilbourn Avenue. (The old Lutheran Hospital)

The training will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 4:00 pm

http://www.neighborhoodtransformation.net/

$30 per participant

Includes lunch and materials.

GO TO WEBSITE TO REGISTER

Presenter: Stan Rowland: Founder of CHE: Community Health Evangelism & Neighborhood Transformation.

Author of MULTIPLYING LIGHT AND TRUTH.

The purpose of this envisioning seminar offered by the Collaborative for Neighborhood Transformation (www.neighborhoodtransformation.net) is to see how believers in Milwaukee can work together to alleviate poverty through Neighborhood Transformation in their own neighborhoods.

Neighborhood Transformation (NT) trains church lay-people how to enter a nearby poor neighborhood, develop relationships and identify assets already found in the neighborhood in individuals and groups. Building on these assets, the goal is to see the gospel bring true poverty alleviation over time.

NT seeks to transform individuals and neighborhoods by helping churches address the root causes of poverty, disease and spiritual darkness by training local church people to share the gospel and mobilize neighborhood actions. Neighborhoods identify their assets and take responsibility for their own lives by learning to change things that they want to see changed in their neighborhood. NT is multi-faceted, functioning in urban poor neighborhoods as Community Health Evangelism functions in the developing world.

Stan Rowland, Coordinator of the Collaborative for Neighborhood Transformation, will facilitate the sessions. This is a unique opportunity to learn from the experience of one who has catalyzed, equipped, and mobilized teams for Community Health Evangelism and Neighborhood Transformation ministry around the world. He will provide an overview of NT principles and methods, and provide participants with information about how they can initiate and develop NT ministries in their communities.

If you would like to register please go to www.atmlive.org, and follow the registration link from the home page. And even some new churches have been planted, both locally and globally.

You may have heard of CHE or Community Health Evangelism which has taken the experience and principles learned in overseas missions and is putting them into practice in urban areas of the U.S.

We are trying to reach the inner city pastors in Milwaukee and to get this information around to as many church leaders as possible. That is where YOU come in. First of all, please pray for this outreach that can have a major impact on Milwaukee!
Just like Rock The Lakes Festival!

You can also help by forwarding this email on to Christian people in your email address book. Some of your friends may have connections to pastors. It’s all about relationships as you know! IF you do have a relationship with an inner city pastor or church leader that would be a great help to me!

I am willing to personally meet with any church leader in Milwaukee and further explain how this seminar can be of major benefit to their church. I will be making phone calls and cold visits to pastors starting next week, but any advance information you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

This is a personal project of mine without backing or funding of any church. NOT looking for any funding!

I personally felt led to have the seminar at a neutral inner city location, the reason we picked City On a Hill (Old Lutheran Hospital). Convenient, safe and low cost.

We are relying on personal contacts to get this info around, before we spend funds on expensive brochures and mailings. I am NOT benefitting in any way financially on this community outreach!

Any thoughts, ideas or words of wisdom would be appreciated.

There is a video interview of Stan Rowland on my BLOG. See below.
See the link to Neighborhood Transformation.

Thank you for reading to the end of my long message and considering to pray for this new outreach in Milwaukee and how it can have a major impact!

If you have any questions please contact me.

Attached is this same message that you could forward to your friends with some tweaking if so led.

Thank you.

Richard Dassow

Stan Rowland Interview

Stan Rowland, Founder of CHE, Community Health Evangelism and Neighborhood Transformation.

Coming to Milwaukee on Oct. 28 and 29th for Introduction to Neighborhood Transformation.

Join us and interact with Stan.
REGISTER FOR EITHER DAY ON THE WEBSITE.

NEIGHBORHOOD TRANSFORMATION COMES TO MILWAUKEE

Visioneering Seminar Friday Oct 28 and 29th.
See website link on RIGHT Side of Blog.

http://www.neighborhoodtransformation.net/
GO TO WEBSITE TO REGISTER FOR EITHER DAY!

Visioneering Seminar Friday Oct 28 and 29th.
Presenter: Stan Rowland: Founder of CHE: Community Health Evangelism & Neighborhood Transformation.
Author of MULTIPLYING LIGHT AND TRUTH.
Come to either one. Same content.

The training will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 4:00 pm on each day.

Will be held at City On A Hill: 2224 W. Kilbourn Avenue. (The old Lutheran Hospital)

Also see me on LINKEDIN. Yes, in Glendale.
So my "roots" run deep!

It all started when I read an interesting book, "FINISHING WELL BY Bob Buford.
The book talked about how we live our lives and that we all want to have an impact on the world and finish our life well.

I intended to start a book discussion group in the area where I grew up-The NorthShore area of Milwaukee. Just about one-half mile from the location of our farm our church has a coffee house, "Holy Grounds" Perfect place for connecting with people.

I started entering information on the blog about what I was involved in, "Helping People Grow Food When There is Little or No Rain" and it kept growing. I was just experimenting to see how a blog works. When I decided I had learned what I needed to know I decided to change the title of the blog and discovered that I couldn't!

Basically, the message of the book was/is that we should finish our life well.
That could mean different things to different people. Here is an excerpt from the book, "Make sure you die in battle. It's good to know what your desired outcomes and objectives are, but you never know what's going to happen in your life. The key is to live intentionally, with passion, for a cause that's worthy of your life. And then die bloody. I plan to go down swinging. I want to die in battle."
I agree with this!

So what's your mission?

"Must have clarity about the mission.I look for people I respect who are practical-minded. I want to be sure it's the sort of project that I can bring something of value to, and in which I'm being involved in a meaningful way. So I always ask myself: Is it a mission I believe in? Do I believe in the people who are in it? and Does it use my talents and gifts in a way that engage me?"

There's a lot of noise going on in the world. We need to listen to God speaking to us and that it is God that is speaking.

"A twenty-five-year high-productivity plan at age sixty built entirely around the core of the things you love to do struck me as a great strategy for finishing well."

I'm starting alittle late...past 60, but I believe this with a passion.
No, I'm not retired, I'm refired!

When I stand before Jesus one day, I want to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant". Isn't that what you want to hear?

So that's how the blog got it's name.

No, I haven't started the book discussion group-yet!

So, I hope you all go out and purchase the book. "Finishing Well" by Bob Buford.

We actually don't have to meet in person. We can do a webinar. Anyone interested?

J.L. I am sure that the CD will be available for purchase by anyone wanting one.

My presentation did NOT get on the CD. I was late. But you can email me and I will send it to you. RNDASSOW at ATT.NET

The morning started with worship led by ECHO interns.
Then we had our morning speakers. After that we boarded buses for the "farm" where we had lunch. After lunch we had choices for many exciting workshops.
After that we had dinner at the farm and were bused back to the hotel.
There we had evening sessions! It was a long but exciting 3 days!

The ECHO website has been updated and most anything you would want to know about agriculture can be found on it! Williams of Impact of Hope.

Dear Friends & Partners:
Those words of promise from the prophet Isaiah describe millions of people around the world. They live in hard and harsh places where water is scarce and food is hard to grow. They literally live in a "sun-scorched land." As a result, hunger, malnourishment and disease are a daily fact of life-- and death. Many people, especially women and children, walk miles each day to carry water for drinking and cooking. There is not enough water for drinking and for their cattle, much less for gardening. So they live subsistently.
But God promise His people that they would be like a "well watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Through his Company, Dick has set up the "Chapin Living Waters Foundation" (CLW) to promote his various drip irrigation kits for Developing Countries -- "Presenting Hope One Drop At A Time."

One of the men that God has used to help fulfill that promise is Mr. Dick Chapin. He is considered the "father of drip irrigation" since he was the first person to conceive the process of watering plants "one drop at a time" -- just like God does through rain. His company, Chapin Watermatics, became the pioneer and leader in the field of commercial drip irrigation products. And his Christian compassion for the needy -- the "bottom billion" of the world -- motivated him to start a ministry entitled Chapin Living Water, to make this practical technology available to the poor and hungry people of the world.

The Chapin Company currently produces 1.5 billion feet of drip irrigation a month -- enough to go around the equator every 30 days!
I first met Dick several decades ago in Haiti through another agricultural entrepreneur, Aart VanWingerden, founder of Double Harvest. They were combining their expertise and experience in the area of farming to produce more food with greater water efficiency. They were well aware of the 3 forms of irrigation used around the world: flood irrigation, sprinkler irrigation and drip irrigation -- with drip irrigation being by far the most efficient. Rather than waste most of the water put on the fields, drip irrigation literally delivers it "one drop at a time" to each plant. Far less water is lost to run-off and evaporation. Almost every drop of precious water feeds the roots of the plant.

This method of watering plants is based around the principle: "The root determines the fruit." It is true spiritually and physically. That's why God's Word says: "You will take root downward and bear fruit upward" (II Kings 19:30; Isa. 37:31).
Top Left: Dick Chapin is now 93 years-old and considered the "Father of Drip Irrigation" in the world. Top Right: The Company was recently bought by an Indian Company who maintains the Chapin name because of its history in the industry. Bottom Left: It is an honor to serve on the CLW Board of Directors. We recently had an annual Board Meeting in Watertown, NY, where the company is located. Bottom Right: I presented this plague to Dick several years ago at one of our NDI banquets.

But the big challenge for Aart VanWingerden and Dick Chapin was how to make this high technology available to the poor, hungry and marginalized people of the world. How could they by-pass the expensive elements of drip irrigation used in the agro-industry in Developed Countries -- which are pumps and wells -- to provide and deliver the water to the fields? As a result, the simple "Bucket Drip Irrigation Kit" was born.

By God's providence, I was living and ministering in Haiti in the early 1980s when Dick and Aart were perfecting this technology. Because of my own love for gardening, I quickly became convinced of the relevance of this technique for the poor of the world. But how would we network it to them? As usual, God had a plan. And once again it involved my brother, Ed, who had first brought me to Burlington to work with him through the YMCA where the New Directions was born in 1968. By this time, Ed had left the YMCA to work for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). At the same time he was also helping a young man by the name of Franklin Graham with his new ministry -- Samaritan's Purse. His wife, Becky, was also helping Franklin with the starting of World Medical Missions.

Top Left: Some of the various irrigation kits being put together. Top Right: Some of the "Super Bucket Kits" ready for shipment to the needy Third World Farmers. Bottom Left: The Chapin-Jain Company logo-- known around the world as a pioneer in drip irrigation. Bottom Right: Here is the historic plaque commemorating the very first drip irrigation system.
During this same time, the BGEA was sponsoring the "International Conference for Itinerant Evangelists", also known as "Amsterdam '86." It brought together (in Amsterdam, The Netherlands) some 10,000 itinerant evangelists and church leaders from around the world -- especially from Third World Countries. Because of our friendship with Franklin, we were able to network Dick and Aart with this strategic global conference. The booth we set up on the "Bucket Drip Irrigation" system drew incredible interest from these men and women from around the world -- most of whom needed better gardens to feed themselves. And as they say, "the rest is history." From that time until now, this system has gone into over 150 countries of the world. We were invited by Franklin Graham to set up a booth at "Amsterdam 2000," just as we did for the earlier two International Conferences. Because of this exposure, thousands of "Bucket Drip Irrigation" kits were sent all over the world. Here are several pictures from the 2000 Conference with Dick Chapin.

Far Left: Me and Dick Chapin at our booth where we netwroked the "Bucket Drip Irrigation Kits" which I still set up in all of the countries I work in-- which why I am sometimes called the "Drip Preacher!" Middle: Patt explaining how to get a Bucket Drip Irrigation kit to one of the nationals attending "Amsterdam 2000" sponsored by the Billy Graham Association. Far Right: One of our key national partners, Stakwell Yurenimo, attended the Conference and he is still using the Chapin Drip Irrigation in his gardens in Northern Kenya among his Samburu Tribe.
Through the years, it has been a great joy and privilege for me to be a networker of this "Bucket Drip Kit" to needy pastors and leaders. Oftentimes I will combine a Pastors' Conference with a drip irrigation seminar -- teaching leaders how to be both successful and fruitful spiritual and physical farmers. That's why I have often been called the "Drip Preacher!" You see, I usually drip sweat when I preach -- and then I teach them how to use drip irrigation! So along with my Bible, I generally carry one or more drip irrigation kits with me when I travel and minister around the world.

Pictures of JL, Bert Lemkes, Len and Arie VanWingerden setting up drip irrigation gardens in Sudan and Ghana.

Across the years, it has been my privilege to serve on the Board for both Double Harvest and Chapin Living Waters. But most of all, it has been my joy to network this very practical technique to needy pastors and people in many underdeveloped countries. To date I have personally carried and taught drip irrigation in the following countries: India, Nepal, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan, Ghana, Liberia, Mali and Ivory Coast. Also in Haiti and the Bahamas. Often times we connect a drip irrigation project with one of our Children's Homes or Bible Colleges to help the people better feed themselves.

Christian entrepreneur, Dick Chapin (right) with his son, Bill, in front of their Drip Irrigation Company.

It was a great joy to recently be with Dick Chapin at the annual board meeting of Chapin Living Waters. At the age of 93 he is still going strong for the Lord Jesus! What an inspiration he is to me personally! One of those nonprofit tables was run by Stephanie Hollister, a high school student from Lee. Stephanie sends the following update and thanks to all who stopped by at the market.

Chapin Living Waters Foundation. My name is Stephanie Hollister. I am part of the Hollister Family Farm, where we are capable of growing vegetables for people, like you, who can come to buy them. But unfortunately there are people in the world who can’t provide themselves with proper food; therefore about 1.1 billion go to bed hungry at night. As part of a school project, I am trying to raise money for the Chapin Living Waters Foundation. CLW supplies less fortunate families all over the world with irrigation systems to help them produce their own food. One kit costs about $10.00 to assemble. One kit can help a family of 3-4 people. I am looking for donations from the public. All donations are welcome. One dollar can bring me one step closer to saving one family from going hungry at night. If you are interested in donating please send a check payable to Chapin Living Waters Foundation to:Ms. Stephanie Hollister163 Lee Hook RoadLee, NH 03861I attended the last Exeter Winter Farmers Market and received $119.00. People of conscience from a variety of faith backgrounds have joined together in North Texas to provide drip bucket irrigation kits to families across the world. Members of Rush Creek Christian Church, Congregation Kol Ami, students at Nolan Catholic High School, engineers from North Texas Engineers Without Borders, as well as Muslim, Jewish and Christian members of an interfaith group called Sons and Daughters of Abraham have packaged almost 200 kits. Monies for the raw materials were collected at a 2009 fundraiser held at Rush Creek Christian Church.
These kits and training have been have been provided to a variety of faith based as well as secular NGOs including Fort Worth Mission Council, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Thibodaux, LA, the Baptist Mission of Uganda , Texas Christian University, and Southern Methodist University. So far, these kits have been distributed to Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Uganda, Pakistan, and Bolivia. This has been a remarkable success and through the generosity of spirit, time and resources from people representing a variety of faiths.

JON FRIPP and his work with Chapin Living Waters

See post of JULY 1, 2009: Jon in Afghanistan

Dear Mr. Chapin,

As a promise to him, I am writing with a word of support for Jon Fripp and his engineering work and guidance. I am John Singleton, Director of International Services at TCU, and I had the pleasure to work with Jon this Spring on a project in Central America. I understand from Jon that I owe you a word of thanks as well, as we have begun working with a technology we owe to your efforts.

TCU has over 600 international students from more than 90 countries on its campus, and has a study abroad percentage of over 20%. Our office oversees a program in Latin America (QuestaTerra) and we have been working for 3 years in a small community outside of Granada, Nicaragua known as Tepeyac.

Tepeyac is somewhat traditional as Latin American communities go…small, poor, populated with a mix of indigenous, meztizo and Spanish peoples, who mostly rely on labor and small agrarian plots for subsistence. The weather is impossibly wet from late May until early November and equally-dry from December until late April, and this cycle means a feast-or-famine existence for the families, who can only farm during the rainy season. Or could only farm then.

We met Jon through “Engineers Without Borders” and requested a meeting with him to discuss our projects, the community and its needs. With typical southern understatement, Jon basically came to our rescue, providing us with very simple and useful logistical support and a wealth of experience about working with cultures and creating lasting, sustainable and beneficial relationships within these communities. In a short period of time Jon had shifted our efforts towards some projects related to water, hygiene and irrigation that we were able to put together and implement in a few short weeks.

As a result, for instance, of his irrigation support, we were able to introduce a cheap, affordable, easily-reproducible system into these highland communities, using something called the Chapin Drip Technology, so that families which could farm only during the rainy season now would be able to develop crops over longer periods of time, improving yields and freeing up hands once bound to supplying water to plants now available for other things. We set up 3 of these systems on a test plot within the community, and upon returning plan to introduce more (once the families are comfortable with the results). The basic smartness—and simplicity—of the system almost guarantees that once in place, it will be used by most families, especially those living some distance from a consistent water supply.

Perhaps we could’ve found this information elsewhere, but Jon not only met with us but then came over to the University and instructed us on how to install the technology, going out of his way to mentor our students not only on some simple technology transfer but also on more complex issues of cultural involvement and what it means to be serious about working in a global community. This information—basic cultural sensitivity—provided us with a foundation to also utilize another of Jon’s suggestions—using water kits to test the local community (and personal homes) water sources. This simple act—our students, going into the homes of families to inquire about their health and give them data on the cleanliness of their water—had so many wonderful implications (culturally) that a simple letter doesn’t have enough space to capture all that took place following.

So if my letter today can provide support or assistance in your decision to work with Jon or involve him in your projects, or if it is simply meant as a reference to the type of person he is, let my words be just that—a reference to his character, decency and willing to give of himself with no expectation of anything in return.

Even as I prepare this letter to send out, Jon continues to mentor with my students, who returned this year with a renewed sense of purpose about our role in such things. I am very appreciative of Jon’s contribution to these matters. Equally, a special thanks to you, as both directly (with the communities) and indirectly, in giving my students a sense of purpose and a focus from which to consider their own work, for the contributions to our efforts to make a ethical difference in the larger community, as is our University’s mission.

Respectfully,

John type='text'>Change The World?

Yes, you can change the World!

See new video of a current project in Africa!
By helping start a small pilot project in a developing country, you can help one or more families grow enough food for themselves and some extra to sell!

If several families participate in the area and do the same, it makes a small but important change not only in their family but also in the community!

And if they "tithe" any profits from their extra veggies that they sell, it helps the church in it's mission!

A small step!

Want to help?

You can contribute towards a project. People are waiting!

How to Start a Pilot Project

This is how a family or NGO, Non Governmental Organization in a developing country can start a small "pilot project".

1. Place 5-10 “Bucket Kits” with 5-10 families in your area. Or “Super Bucket Kits”It all works by gravity, no need for electricity! We can help via phone, fax and email.

2. Start a Demo plot or Garden: By a School, Clinic, Church, Village, etc.5-10 “Bucket Kits” or “Super Bucket Kits”Bring in people, show how it works, use the produce it provides in your school, clinic, church.

3. Set up a ¼ acre or 1 acre system. For this you will need water pressure.

4. Later after steps 1 and or 2, a request can be made to us to come in and conduct a 2-5 day training workshop: Show how and involve people, families in setting up a “Bucket Kit” and training them in other agricultural topics. Train the Trainers concept! We continue with follow up AFTER we leave. Last month, Dick Dassow began corresponding via email with SFC Mark Fettinger of the 1-19th Indiana National Guard Agribusiness Development Team (ADT) about the application of the Chapin Drip Bucket technology to Afghanistan. The ADT units focus on combating terrorism by rebuilding Afghanistan’s economy through agriculture. Mark is stationed at the Forward Operation Base Salerno in Khost, Afghanistan. Mark had recognized the benefits of the drip bucket approach and was attempting to fabricate kits with local materials. After some consultation, Dick Chapin mailed several kits to Mark for his use.

During this email exchange, it occurred to Dick Dassow that Jon Fripp had worked with drip irrigation in Afghanistan in the past and he forwarded Mark’s contact information to Jon. As it turns out, Jon was on his way to the same base that Mark is stationed to provide training which included the use of drip buckets. Jon arrived on the base about the same time the kits that Dick had sent arrived. And Jon brought several additional drip bucket kits with him as part of the training.

The workshop was organized by the US Department of Agriculture with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Team leader was Sylvana Li. Instruction was provided by primarily by George Hernandez and Jon Fripp. A variety of people participated in the training including active duty military personnel, US civilians, UN representative and Afghan nationals. The workshop addressed a variety of soil and water conservation techniques. These included the use of the Chapin Bucket Drip Irrigation system. Several kits were provided to the workshop participants and an example system was set up and examined during the workshop. The photos shown below include the set up of the drip bucket irrigation system at a demonstration farm."

Additional photos can be viewed at:
http://www.chapinlivingwaters.org/Chapin%20July%202009%20Newsletter.pdf

Hope Without Borders in Kenya

Greetings from Kenya - during the past weeks, we have enjoyed working on assessing and implementing 10 community development projects accross Kenya and Tanzania along with sharing the hope we have in the Savior Jesus...We have much to share with all of you as BAT plans on reaching out to the central city of Milwaukee...
Peace and Hope,
Lance, Howard and Josh Lutter
Hope Without Borders-USA
http://www.hwb-usa.org/

Lance sets up new drip irrigation in Kenya

Report from Lance Parve in Kenya this morning. They offer simple, sustainable technologies for subsistence farming, bringing hope to the poorest people and the opportunity to solve their own problems. Their simple “Bucket Kit” can be a tool for outreach and church planting. Check it out at...
http://www.chapinlivingwaters.org/

They serve development groups, relief organizations, and mission groups working with people in third world countries. Their "Bucket Kits", consisting of 100 feet of drip hose, fittings and connecting tubing, are ideal for poor families in communities where running water and pumps are not available. The family connects the kit to a 5-gallon bucket elevated at least 1 meter above the ground, and fills the bucket with water twice daily. This simple, inexpensive, gravity fed system will provide enough moisture for a vegetable garden large enough to feed a small family during periods when there is absolutely no rainfall.

If you are a business person, pastor, missionary, or NGO, and you feel you can use this technology, please contact Dick to obtain a bucket kit to be used as a tool for outreach. Find them on the web athttp://www.chapinlivingwaters.org/

Business as mission: Opportunity to multiply your resources for God’s Kingdom!

1. We can help you set up a pilot project!

2. Pilot project can help to grow interest in the next step:
Helping a person, group or organization become an area or country representative for us spreading the word and helping others grow enough food for their families when there is no rain.

3. A micro finance organization can help by financing a distributor. Cost? About $200.00 to start with a small inventory of “Bucket Kits”

4. Spreading the word among your contact organizations about what we do…if you or your organization does NOT want to take an active role.

There are many ways that we could work together!

Can we talk more about how we can partner together?

Helping people grow enough food for their family can be a great outreach opportunity!

1.1 Billion people will go to bed hungry tonight!

Chapin Living Waters, a Christian ministry offers a solution to the tragedy.

“Helping people grow food when there is no rain”

We serve development groups, relief organizations, and mission groups working with people in third world countries, by introducing programs for sustainable drought resistant vegetable production. Our work involves publishing training materials, conducting workshops and seminars in drip irrigation and basic agricultural methods for subsistence farming, and assisting in the distribution of “Bucket Kits”. In regions where we have done more extensive training and follow-up, we find that “Bucket Kit” programs are becoming largely self-sustaining.

The “Bucket Kit”, consisting of 100 feet of drip hose, fittings and connecting tubing, is ideal for poor families in communities where running water and pumps are not available. The family connects the kit to a 5-gallon bucket elevated at least 1 meter above the ground, and fills the bucket with water twice daily. This simple, inexpensive, gravity fed system will provide enough moisture for a vegetable garden large enough to feed a small family during periods when there is no rainfall. The availability of vegetables during dry seasons not only improves the nutrients in the diet, but also reduces the need for staples such as maize by as much as one-third. Many families return to purchase additional “Bucket Kits” in order to sell vegetables at a premium during the dry season, providing funds for other family needs such as clothing, schooling, and medical care.

This simple technology can be used as a tool for your community outreach or for your church planting. We can help you set up a low cost-low risk pilot project. We can work with you with micro lenders for larger projects.

Please look at our website: http://www.chapinlivingwaters.org/ for world-wide testimonies revealing how the Lord is using this simple drip irrigation system to help people grow enough food for themselves when there is little or no rain.

Please email and or call me today for more information on partnering with us in ministering to the physical needs of the people in your area of influence, creating a spiritual breakthrough that will have eternal value in the Kingdom.

Until All Have Heard

Richard Dassow for Chapin Living Waters.
