Foundation For His Ministry: Newsletter Oct 30 . 2014

Foundation for His Ministry Weekly Praise & Prayer Newsletter

Praise Reports:
.   Allen and Claudette Bechtel are friends of the ministry who spend time in the winter at the Oaxaca Mission. They recently sent pictures of the goats they raised and a craft fair they held at their church to help raise funds for the construction of the school in Oaxaca. We thank God for friends like these who think of creative ways to help support His Ministry.

      The Betchel's goats

.   Aubrey Beauchamp picked up hundreds of donated afghan squares from the San Clemente office and spent over a year using them to make beautiful afghans that are nicely packaged and labeled. This was certainly a labor of love.

.   Thank you so much to everyone who did a review of Foundation For His Ministry on greatnonprofits.org. It was so encouraging and uplifting to read the beautiful things written and hear stories of how lives have been changed through FFHM. We are so blessed to work with some remarkable people. Today is the last day you can write a review in order for us to be considered for their list of top nonprofits in 2014. www.greatnonprofits.org/reviews/foundation-for-his-ministry

Prayer Requests:
. The students at our home for university students in Tijuana are entering their final month of classes for this semester. They have asked us to join them in praying they will be able to finish with excellence and that they will be safe as they travel back and forth from the home to their universities. Please also pray for Gina and Jorge Gamboa who are their houseparents. Pray that God sustains them and gives them wisdom in their relationships with the students.

TJ House students
. We are hoping to start Phase II of the renovation of the TJ House in January and are still short on the needed funds for this project. Please join us in praying that God will supply what we need.

TJ House
.  Tomorrow is our annual board meeting in Laguna Woods, California. Mario Cordoba, the Baja Administrator, and Jill Adams, the Oaxaca Administrator have traveled up from Mexico for this meeting. Dr. John Lucas, our Canadian Director, will also be attending. Everyone is looking forward to being together and for dreaming about the future. Please pray for unity, vision and wisdom for everyone involved.

Dr. Lucas, Charla and Peter (board president)
. The prison across the street from our Oaxaca Mission has now more than tripled in size after recent construction and will now house almost all of the prisoners in the state of Oaxaca. This creates an urgent need to finish the wall surrounding the Mission for added security. The east side of the wall still needs to be completed and it will cost approximately $19,000 dollars to do this. Please pray our Mission continues to be safe. And pray for Enrique, the prison ministry supervisor, as his ministry will soon expand.

Latest news from Foundation For His Ministry

Foundation for His Ministry Weekly Praise & Prayer Newsletter

Praise Reports:
.  After visiting with doctors in Canada, Oaxaca missionary Elaine Croft found out that what was thought to be a serious ear infection was actually not infected. We are grateful for answered prayers and quick attention from doctors - which we are told is a miracle in itself in Canada.

Elaine with her husband Ian
.  We recently received this report about Sergio, one of the missionaries at the Baja Mission who spent the summer in Wisconsin getting new prostheses:

Just thought you all would like to know, we heard from Dirk at the orphanage tonight.  He says he hasn't seen Sergio in the wheelchair since he got back. On his new legs, he assisted in digging the grave for a missionary who died at the orphanage, and he's on the rescue squad and the fire department the Mission operates for the whole area.  He's, also, driven a stick shift truck to deliver wheelchairs to those in need. It appears now because of all you have done and all of your prayers, that Sergio is living the life he always wanted to live. He's "one of the boys" and smiling all the time.

.  Keith Euhus, a long time supporter of the ministry, sent us this message:

Today my oncologist reviewed my recent CT scan, found no obvious remaining lymphoma, and declared me in remission! That doesn't mean I'm cured, since it typically returns/continues about 6 years from first treatment. But for now, I'm in remission!  God has been gracious! Thank you for your prayers these past two years.

Prayer Requests:
. Eric Benning, the son of Baja missionaries Hans and Nancy Benning, was in a very serious motorcycle accident that left him with a fractured leg and arm. Please pray for minimal pain and a quick healing.

Eric and Hans Benning
. Please join us in praying for more teachers to serve in the Disabled Children's Learning Center at the Baja Mission. Three of their teachers are leaving by the end of the year and they have an urgent need for more people with a heart for children with disabilities to go and serve in this place.
